In the middle of life - and then still a career change to the perfect job! At 39, Larissa completed her training as a social assistant and is happier than ever today.
At 46, Larissa Heute is married and the mother of three daughters aged 26, 12 and 7. Until a few years ago, she sat at a desk full-time and worked as an office administrator. Through the stories of her long-time friend, who is also the pedagogical director of STARKITA e.V., Larissa's desire for a social profession grew more and more. The birth of her two youngest daughters finally moved her to want to continue working with children. After an initial internship at STARKITA Haeckelstraße 10 and subsequent training, the 46-year-old was taken on at the newly opened STARKITA Am Rohgraben 8 and for the past four years has finally been able to do professionally what she enjoyed doing in her private life.
In the nursery of the STARKITA Am Rohgraben 8, Larissa takes care of the smallest of all children in her care. Most important here: situational action and a lot of closeness! Unlike with the older children, the entire daily routine cannot be planned here. In order to be able to give the babies safety and security, they still need a lot of physical closeness and emotional strength. "This is the only way they can develop." Often parents ask what they could change to make the babies feel comfortable and safe. Larissa thinks a family and secure environment are the most important aspects of giving babies the affection they need. However, she thinks the emotional strength needed by educators to do this is often underestimated far too much!
A warm, family atmosphere is not only important to the children and babies. At STARKITA Am Rohgraben 8, the colleagues are also like a small family with whom you can talk not only about the positive and beautiful things. Problems and needs can also be discussed openly at any time. Wishes for further training are also taken into account and made possible. But the cohesion of the staff is also strengthened in private. Annual trips to amusement parks and summer parties are always planned for Larissa and her colleagues, bringing them a bit closer together. And that's exactly why the mother and social assistant feels so at home here.
